In recent years, the performance of these dogs has not fared quite as well as the time period examine by O’Higgins (1973 to 1989). From 2007 till 2009 the Dogs underperformed, however the last 7 years, the Dogs outperformed the Dow 6 times  Below is a table illustrating performance of DJIA versus the Dogs and the small Dogs for the years 2006 through 2016:
